Recycled Jacket

Today I had fun making the mullet version of a jacket! (Business in the front, party in the back) Ha!
I had a brand new beautiful jacket that had a large hole in the back. The embroidery and details were so beautiful, it couldn't be tossed out.
Now the back has part of a military jacket with a pocket. It's a camo kangaroo!

Thailand Travels

We had such a great time on vacation in Thailand. The food, beaches, snorkeling and massages were fantastic and the shopping was out of this world. I'm headed to the studio with inspiration and new ideas!

Recycled Military Jacket

I've been making a few things out of an old army jacket. Here are two fun and durable wallets.

I reused the button and tab from the jacket on the larger one, and added a pretty rhinestone button on the smaller one.

Hand Painted Fabric Purses

Mom and I have been at the studio this week painting fabric and making crazy purses, among other things. These look dynamite and no one else has one just like ours!

Rosettes

I have been having fun making rosettes and using my Satinedge foot. I had been wanting to do this to a recycled vest for a while, and it was nice to finish and see the rosey product.

For the rosettes, I recycled a railroad stripe pair of pants. I used one of the techniques in April/May's Threads magazine.

So Many Earrings!

This is a great new use for a former fireplace screen. I had so many earrings, it was difficult to find something large enough to not only store, but also display them all.

Now I can bring my necklace or clothes over to the screen and see which ones are a match!

Recycled Skirt

Recently, I bought two bags of garments at a clothing exchange. One of the garments was a printed denim skirt. I took it apart and have made six new items out of it so far, using the back of the skirt and the zipper. I still have goods from the front of the skirt to use for something else.
In the photo: a clutch purse, two coffee cozies, a wrist strap keychain, a folding id/card holder with vinyl windows and a small zippered pouch.

Artistic Thread Board

My parents came up with this fantastic solution to my thread storage issue. It is a framed & decoupaged board with machine screws to hold the thread. It is a work of art on its own.
